STSM is a good animated film and certainly worth seeing over many of the other films currently in cinemas and it's a good laugh for the whole family.

There are plenty of laughs, but they rarely reach the levels of hilarity the TV series would often produce.
This doesn't quite happen here, but the film runs out of gas before the end and it's not quite as inventive as say, The Wrong Trousers or A Close Shave. The truth is, short TV shows being stretched to fit a feature length running time often stretches a simple premise beyond breaking point. The music is a bit jarring, and some of the jokes are a little broad and some of the set pieces are too threatening. While this won't bother many, some poor continuity to the TV show, such as there being fewer sheep than normal and the Farmer being fond of the sheep in an overly sentimental manner can be irritating. A scene which occurs in a restaurant is one of those moments where you wish they could pause the film for a moment so that you can stop laughing and regain your composure. With unpredictable and bitingly effective jokes, clever slapstick and an atmosphere of unrestrained glee, this offers charm in spades and the laughs don't really stop flowing. Shaun the Sheep Movie isn't a profound film and it's all about the humour, which it delivers on. Visually it's a very clever film and as it's stop motion it never feels artificial. This is an old premise for a film of this type, although new things are done with it and the city rendered in glorious Claymation never stops being fun to look at. He, the flock and the sheepdog go into the city to rescue their Farmer. Shaun isn't Gromit, but he's a good character and here he stars in his own movie. Fiendishly funny, inventive and almost surreal in its enjoyment levels, adults will be able to enjoy it too. It seems to know that it's just here for mindless moviegoing fun.In my opinion, Shaun the Sheep, the TV show, is the best thing Aardman have ever done. While Synder still can't resist including his name at least a half-dozen times during the extra gory, show-offy opening credits sequence, Army of the Dead ultimately doesn't take itself too seriously. In the end, the movie reveals a good heart, valuing family over the stolen millions. The movie is elevated by its lovable, diverse characters, led by the always charismatic Bautista, and - in a switch from Snyder's grim, humorless superhero movies - a rolicking sense of humor (much of it supplied by Tig Notaro as a helicopter pilot). In a shift from some of his earlier movies, Snyder even attempts to give his female characters a little power and a real voice. And while some camera movements and cutting can be jerky and disorienting, other sequences work quite well. But though the movie employs the director's usual drab color palette, it does sometimes unexpectedly brighten up once the team arrives in Vegas. The zombies aren't at all scary or interesting, and there's some iffy imagery. Like many of Snyder's movies, Army of the Dead is far too long and far from flawless. Zack Snyder's zombie heist movie is hardly original, and yet, because of its cast and hardy sense of humor, it marginally succeeds as an action/horror roller coaster ride. The movie isn't without its problems, but it gets by on being pure, dumb fun for those who like this kind of action.

A character smokes cigars, and there are a few moments of social drinking, plus a character glugging from a bottle of Jack Daniels. Oral sex is implied (a woman unbuckles a man's belt and leans over his lap while he makes moaning sounds), and three topless female zombies are seen for several seconds. Language is also really strong, with many uses of "f-k," "s-t," and more. Several very violent acts are committed against women. His temporary management job isn't going well at Foree Electronics, with his subordinates not even giving him the time of day. His long-time girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) has dumped him due to their almost-daily expedition to Shaun's favorite pub, the Winchester. Human characters die, and there are lots of guns, knives, and explosions. Shaun (Simon Pegg) is having many problems in life. A pregnant female zombie is killed, and the dead zombie fetus is removed and shown. The explicit gore is intentionally over the top and sometimes played for humor: Zombies are obliterated in various ways, and blood is everywhere. Parents need to know that Army of the Dead is an extremely gory zombie-infested heist movie directed by Zack Snyder and starring Dave Bautista.
